wicker chairs

Post by Susana » Mon Apr 27, 2009 11:32 am

I saw this freebie of 2 wicker chairs in Gumtree and thought maybe we could have them in the back garden to compensate for not being allowed to sit on chairs on the pavement. So I took them, just in case. Then I remembered someone saying that we are not allowed extra furniture in that garden. So maybe that is it. You may tell me otherwise, though...

Anyhow, I then thought maybe we could have them in the hall entrance, on the way to the shop, hanging from the ceiling or from the walls, (that space is a fire exit, so having them on the floor, as normal, is not allowed) and use them to have plants on them.. or just bare. I don't know if that would still pose some 'safety' problems, like they could fall on people,etc.. :? The chairs are pretty light, though, they should hang quite safely. I think.

Let me know, please. Otherwise I have to find another use for them

Susana,

The Health and Safety police just like the Chair police are nightmares. They told us to take down the hanging ballet slippers in the stairwell because they might kick someone or something so I imagine chairs would be a no.

Lynne is away till Wednesday but she is the one with to say for sure on building regulations.

- I say, I shall not retrieve the holder till you move up to Hamlet cigars.... So much more fitting for someone like you, darling!

(or does Pims not go with Hamlet cigars? I am not so finely tuned with the British social scale...Please enlighten me. -you know, 21 years around in UK and I only discovered the existence of Pims recently! - )

So, I left the 2 chairs in that small space at the end of the stairs in the basement. Anyone welcome to take them out the our 'tiny' garden and put them back after use.

( Not the design you would have chosen... but hey! life is not perfect.. )

Perfect!
now I have read this thread.
the two wonderful flowerish chairs will soon be seen and used everyday and people might not even want to leave the forest at all.
but it´s allready like that for some :-)
anyway, the chairs.
cheers!
