Yup
Yes. I'd like to paint the floor down the stairs recreating the design that's already there, but just using black and white so it covers up all the shit. So it would be mostly black. I always liked the piano key stairs we had before, so I thought it might be an idea to do that again but with black keys, white sharp notes and some letterings on the keys.

No No No
Number one.
The piano staircase carries the artistic nouse of a novelty tie.
It's OF AN ill-inducing naff.
'Mostly black' has a scale along same lines of a little bit bit pregnant.
These are just steps that meet with dirty feet let go of the wish to conceptualise.

ok:
called caldonian paints. they have some interesting facts.
You can buy floor paint or 2 part floor paint. the 2 part paint is more durable but also more expensive (would cost about £60 for downstairs). They only have black.
Now, here's the catch. They say it takes 2 - 3 days to "cure" which means that while the floor may appear dry in one day, IT is Not and should not be walked on.
The standard floor paint takes longer to dry, apparently.
so, what to do?
shall we paint last thing on sunday and then .... try our luck?
looks like we're looking about about £50 - £60 in costs. I need to know if we want the super durable stuff now though if you want me to order it.
thoughts concerns questions advice?

Is it insane to think that we could get everything we need out of the basement on Saturday and then paint the stairs Saturday night? Then we can use upstairs toilet on Sunday. If one of us really needs to go downstairs, there is the emergency exit...
I say black paint. But you know, it will chip and look weird too. Black with some runway strips sounds good.
I would like to get the workshop room cleaned and ready too. I reckon there might even be time to geekify it in the afternoon.
Do we have a working vacuum right now?

Silly me, I was only thinking about painting the downstairs toilet floors, one of my pet flaky paint hates. For the staircase we could paint alternate steps on different days and only long-legged people would be allowed/able to use them. Actually that might not be a completely crazy idea!
I would love to help tidy the workshop.

that will have to do. it's not great but it's the best we can do without closing for 3 days.

shannon and bill want to get one off freecycle or get ours repaired or somthing. i'm into buying new with arenty etc and getting it fixed as necessary. i think we should buy a heavy duty wet/dry one that can handle lots of mess much easier. something fron b&q i imagine.
anyway, today was the last day for me to sort it before sunday so i hope someone else can sort it out.

isn't it a bit better to buy a more industrial, brand new hoover, which a) will last longer, b) be a damn good hoover and c) be covered by a warantee fo 3 years! It would probably work out cheaper than getting a half decent one with no warrenty and having to spend cash dollars on getting it repaired or replacing it.
Don't get me wrong..I'm all for freecycle, but often find that when it comes to electricals there is normally a reason people are getting rid of them...because they've been used for years and are replacing them with newer ones (wink,wink..its on the brink, who wants it).
what...me? cynical? get it up ya!
