Sorry i cant find the other thread that relates to this problem ,

oak has once again failed to find the hard drive on boot up , this has happened before with oak and also willow .

After a few trys it booted , but it is giving lots of errors .

the disk has a i/o error and it cannot be mounted . we can only get busybox shell

Okay, turn it off and mark it out of order, I'll look at it tonight.

I jiggled the cables inside and started it up and it worked okay.

Might be worth taping the SATA connectors in the machines. They don't stay in as well as the old IDE ones used to.

that's what happened the last time this happened a week or so ago - just opened the boxes (oak and the middle one), checked all the connections were firmly in then they decided to boot up no problem after.

I 'fixed' the left hand computer by unplugging and replugging the SATA cables.

Some computer manufactures use a blob of hot glue to fix cables in place. Do we have a hot glue gun?
