May Events Poster

Post by Jimmy Bastard » Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:09 pm

Anyone helping out in the poster department, your mission if you choose to except it...

As a rule Jane puts together the imagery for each month's events poster but just now she has tasks on her plate the size of the Empire State.
so I'm calling in your skills.
The poster will be double-sided,
each day of the month will be represented by a different cassette tape
Image
lookee here for images
http://www.tapedeck.org/
(note this was originally intended for april where the days would have sat 15 on each side of the poster in a 3 by 5 rack)
hope you are still with me.
I will pass on to you the write up for all of May's events
Here's the technical bit which lies beyond my own skills, using different handwriting fonts I would like to see the name of the day's event wriiten onto the tape,
the idea being to look like an actual mixtape.
Dates, times and write up can be written above and below each tape.
There are a few days that have no acts happening, for these days the tape image might be substituted with some witty take on
Image
along the lines of
'home listening is killing live music'
'book an event'
but something wittier and a little sharper.
That's it, add your own flourishes wherever you feel.
The Forest logo, website, address, map, etc. all of which I'll include with the write-ups.
Shouldn't be too complicated, there are days where there are more than one event but this can be worked around.
Do you have the time to do this and have I managed to convey the way I see it?
Let me know asap and I'll pass the info along
oliviadarling@hotmail.com
Let me know.

I'm on it.

For future reference, there is a site which generates pictures of tapes with your text on them. I'm doing it the old fashioned way, with Gimp and OOo.

How about these. Can someone in the office see how these print and let me know if they need modifying. Thanks.

Looks awesome. Can you please take the 19th event off? That guy is so not allowed to play here anymore...

Swift and sterling work as ever Mr. Crowe,
if I have time I can set aside I'll try to print tomorrow.
