Polyfaith Tour in Edinburgh

Post by Jimmy Bastard » Thu Jul 10, 2008 8:00 pm

This is a few years old, actually from 2005 but new to me, it's audio tour around Edinburgh searching out religious experience.
It was inspired by the will of an agnostic professor and seems rather wonderful.
I'm gonna check it out this Monday with my mate Jonathon who passed me the link, I'll post up my impressions.
Have a look at the little film to get a fuller impression
http://www.furtherfield.org/5+5=5/polyfaith.mov
here's the fuller website
http://www.polyfaith.com/

My boy Jon has been in email with him, proper bloke it would seem.

'Please note, the Sikh location has been replaced by a shop I think
now. i don't live in Edinburgh any more. If you do this tour, please
let me know about the condition of the exhibits.

Thanks!

Chris

keep in touch - i am doing a live psychgeography event in advocates

Did half of it yesterday. Very interesting. I strongly recommend it. You can make of the claims whatever you want, it is fascinating in any case.

A few tips: (if you prefer to go blindly don't read them ;-)

At the third 'station' you will find that the roots have been covered with tarmac (safety issue obviously). You will recognise the exact place precisely for the patch of tarmac on the pavement...

Enjoy!

(it can be a bit heavy going on the buses as the traffic is so terrible at the moment...)

Ah! In Morningside check out the street behind the spot: they have such beautiful displays of little gardens... enchanting. It is called Springvalley Terrace, I think.

At the Jewel take the bus till the Asda stop (it's the last one), then come back out into the road and turn left: the 'spot' is the group of houses just there.

Neil, you are welcome to borrow my iPod if you haven't managed to download the files. Also I have an AtoZ with all the maps.
