Dirk Markham

Dirk Markham grew up in Aboyne , a village in “Royal” Deeside in the north east of drockScotland (an hour inland from Aberdeen). Dirk has been making experimental recordings and teaching himself every instrument he can get his hands on since his years studying mental philosophy at Edinburgh in the late 90s. His music is mainly instrumental although occasionally the odd folk-rock song pops up out of nowhere. Life for Dirk is a musical journey on which he is constantly searching for the new sound.

Despite the fact that Dirk has been residing in Berlin for the last five years, he likes to feel he is still plays an active part in the Forest.  One recent exchange was when he hosted/organized the Berlin leg of The Golden Hour European Tour 09 which was an unbounded success all round.

Dirk’s recent works include tracks on Ryan Van Winkles album “I hate myself, i’m a genius, i ruin everything, im so lonely ” and a mini-album of Christmas songs called “advent“. Dirk has just released Psycho-acoustic scultptures Vol. 4 and awaits eagerly the release of “Post-Listening” which he did with Forest’s Urban Exploration Society.
