Another computer in the office...

It would be good.

Shall we get refurbished or new?

Easily done yes?

Infoseed might be a good idea as they offer very good prices.

You'd be best off putting Ubuntu on it rather than Windows.

Don't buy a new computer, that's just a pointless waste. If you want something that comes with a warranty, you could buy a second-hand refurbished one from a shop (which is more expensive than the freegan or infoseed route, but much cheaper than buying a new one).
I've had it with you. If I had an image of a laser gun I would absolutely position it right here in my hand...
Ha! I have a real laser absolutely positioned in my hand!

I've got a machine almost ready to go for this, same spec as the existing one. Been sitting waiting for us to get cash which I guess we have now.

I'll finish it off.
I love the bomb.

Will Ubuntu allow use of Photoshop & Word & other such essential stuff?

Well, no, those are proprietary softwares. But there is OpenOffice and The GIMP, Inkscape and Xara. Infoseed would be a good place to drop into if you want to see this stuff in action.

It's in. Needs a mouse, keyboard and net connection.

A switch and a couple of network cables would do.

Anything spare at Infoseed ?

We could also use another power bar.

Machine is Windows atm. Should add Linux, run one normally Windows one normally Linux I reckon. It's got Openoffice, firewall, spybot, winrar etc. Needs some more stuff installed. Admin pass the same as the other machine.

I'll see what infoseed has. We probably have a crappy keyboard, maybe not a mouse. May have a network cable too. Such things are inexpensive though. Think Graeme has been talking about having lots of hubs and switches spare.

I could install Ubuntu dual-boot on it sometime... shall I just go ahead with this next time I'm about? What kind of applications would people like added? I'll stick on what I think will be useful.
