FAO Events Team - Eclectic Mud

Post by RachelMcCrum » Tue Dec 04, 2012 12:23 pm

Eventfolk.

A guy came in last week asking about a possibly monthly event (pref a Saturday night) in Forest for 'Eclectic Mud' - a group of vinyl junkies who used to play in Nobles in Leith, but are looking to move to more congenial surroundings. They have their own decks - but would require PA - and understand about free events. They're not looking for money, they just want to play their music...

They seemed bona fide. I explained about the current 'non-amplified' status, and that anything that could happen with decks would happen in the New Year. Perhaps drop them an email, and see for a trial?

Contact is Andrew Hynd (or 'Fuz) - email fuz.evey@icebomb.co.uk or mobile 07789851155

Sounds good. Check carefully about amplifying stuff.

Thanks Iain. Seems like in reality the stance is softened a bit, to low volume rather than completely non-amplified, but that might not be what they had in mind. I think it sounds great, and perfect for Saturday nights. But, I also think no question we have we have to stick to trying not to disturb neighbours, partly out of compassion, and partly because we currently don't have the licence/2 year lease. Setting up a regular Saturday night dance party might not help us out.

I got the impression it's quite lo-fi, for a hi-fi night. But they seem cool. Would love to see a trial, if it can be managed.

I stumbled across a thread on a forum I frequent,
here's a taste of the playlist for that particular night,
