Piano Donation - What say you sound and musicians?

Post by Emma » Mon Sep 28, 2009 6:45 pm

This came into info today... Shall I say yes? It sounds wonderful!
Hello Forest,

I love coming to the Forest for live music and poetry. When I first arrived in Edinburgh I needed a piano to practice on but could not find one. Your rehearsal room in the basement did not have one. I am moving from Edinburgh and have a lovely upright piano which needs a new home and was wondering if you would be interested in having it? It has lovely tone. (I bought it for £699 in April 2009)

I wrote my latest album on it and are sad to not be able to take it with me but I would love for it to be used and loved by other aspiring musicians.

I could arrange for it to be delivered.

Look forward to hearing from you, I have pictures of the piano that I could e-mail to you.

Thanks,

David

Playing piano at the forest awoke something in me which had been lacking for a very long time as I had no access to one, which I now see criminal. Bring it on. But where should it go? This should be decided before tuning obviously.
Also a digital piano with midi out would be good for the stage, but could not be used unless the pa is on, though they do have speakers built in. Can't we have both?

Just to let you know, I e-mailed David yesterday and said we would be delighted to have his piano.

I haven't heard back from him yet...

This is probably as cheap as they get new, for anyone interested.
