love to see the equation back! looks great and good for all year round. nice work. my one (minor) concern is the wording on "you are us" which sounds vaguely sinister to me. had a scan for the original wording on the new website and couldn't find it --- something like "forest is people. you is people. people is forest. you is us." or something that explained the reductionist statement more. if that was modified, that would be cool. though, i am probably being super picky.

while I'm thinking. had a dream that we had posters and little cards or strips of paper or maybe stencils around the building which just said:


volunteer.



just the word on white. i kind of think something basic / non-text heavy and without promises or connotations might be good. also - volunteer is simple. easy. just a word.

if anyone has time / inclanation, i'd be curious to see these made in good fonts and put all over the place.

it must be said, however, that I once tried to convince my flatmate who was in advertising that the best slogan a company could get was simply:

good

as in:

budwiser. good.

that would be the entire campaign. eventually buswiser would be synonymous with good I argued. Eventually forest could be synonymous with volunteer. the advertising guy (now very successful) thought this was too stupid but i forget the reasons why.

The simple "volunteer" sounds cool, it's worth a try i think, will take care of it.

But what is more urgent right now: we don't have a night manager for today. On the rota in the Action Room there is no Events Manager and nobody signed up for a shift till 3am tonight yet.
PLEASE, everybody who reads this and has a few hours tonight, come and help! Everyone who has nightmanaged before and could do it tonight, please come! Call us!

Osama has stepped in to NM tonight at the very last minute, and Gareth Warner has agreed to work 9.00pm - 3.00am too!!

I've asked Stephen to ask Osama to do the EM tasks until you get here Ryan.

As long as Osama stocks up the beer, puts the tables and bins at the doors and keeps an eye on the front, we should be fine.

Stephen has said he will ask the Forest Fringe people to volunteer for a wee while also.
