Do you have something special to give?

Post by Emma » Sat Mar 28, 2009 8:13 pm

I'm going crazy on fundraiser posts today.

I'm organising the tombola for the fundraiser. Does anyone have something they would like to donate for prizes?

I'm looking for anything from your time (so far been offered things like - a free massage, kitchen manager to cook you a meal) to actual items big, small, wacky and fun - anything goes. I need lots and lots of things. Or if you know of any shops/suppliers/service people that may want to donate I'd be really grateful for any help you can give. I'm going to leave a box in the cafe where you can leave anything you like for this or just drop by the office.

Lastly, if you know of a tombola kicking around somewhere please let me know otherwise am going to be using the salad spinner.

Thanks!

I just got some material from Bits and Bobs, I want to try and make some bags (small and big). I've no use for them, so happy to give whatever I might come up with.
Also, If wanted, I can make some orange and grapefruit candied peels...

printed out photos on A4 size, in batches of 5 or 6 maybe, on these topics:

My Chickens - I followed them around and they got up to lots of things.
Clouds & Sky - taken from my plane window trip back here.
The Sea - close ups, beach, water and foam with the odd cool seagull doing something.
Clouds & Sky & Sea - horizon shots taken from the beach & sitting on the cliff.
Unbelievably beautiful shots from nature - particularly a national park in NSW recentlyish.
Whatever else looks really suitable when I open the files...etc

My colour printer is over brown-ing the colours though so I will see how it goes - may have time to get it fixed first.

I got some of these laminated for a wall and they look really good and are an inexpensive and delightful decoration/natural artwork for someone.

Brilliant! Loving the offers so far...also had some free meals donated too, I'm going to make some bags (may be rubbish but been experimenting with sewing at Stitch & Bitch) and been asking some other local businesses so will see what we get there.

If you can drop off your stuff at the Forest for early next week say Monday that would be great. I need to pull everything together. Am thinking of making a big wheel of fortune type thing if get the time too.

My printer is not able to do it's job, and a yellow cartridge is on order but won't arrive til next week. Pages are turning out like they've been sitting at the bottom of the Black Lagoon.

My solution seeking creativity, is for the prize to be a voucher/exchange docket - like it sounds you are doing with winning a human. This way, I can send the 'series' of photo prints when they available, without messing with the fundraiser night and prize offer. The hint given by the voucher, combined with the suspense at receiving them, can only heighten the very really excitment of winning them...surely...

I will draw up some vouchers with a very rough sketch of what they will receive. Will pop in post as soon as I can. Over to you, best I can do I think. Please let me know if there is an electronic alternative available that is preferable. :)

I am sorry, I've only just finished going through photo files - posting vouchers didn't seem efficient, there wasn't time. Have had weather and a sick animal to deal with. Can some lovely person please draw up vouchers for me :?: I am imagining a big "YOUR THE WINNER" on one side, and one of the following on the reverse side, to be given to Emma:-

photograph series 1 - Clouds. Taken from a plane flight.

photograph series 2 - Clouds. Taken from a plane window.

photograph series 3 - my hens

photograph series 4 - my hens and other birds

photograph series 5 - australian wildlife

photograph series 6 - aust. wildlife including just born baby red-bellied blacksnakes

photograph series 7 - nature

photograph series 8 - The Sea. Big, Expansive, Huge Sea

photograph series 9 - The Sea. Finer points, smaller bits.

I intend for there to be 5 photos in each series. They are all original special loving shots taken by me. Maybe some would like to swap so they have a mixed group, or do whatever with them. I hope very much they are enjoyed and appreciated. :) I will get onto it when my printer is fixed- please let me know how you go with it. I try to get different shots, so the chicken one may sound dull, but you've never met my chickens...-))

Just for the record: Though I call them 'photo series', they are not 'photographs' this way, but digital photos printed onto recycled paper, reliant upon and limited by, the interpretation and colour ability of my printer.

Thanks for all the donations to the tombola, to the guys who helped me me flog them on the night and to those gamblers anonymous who bought them (you know who you are!). We sold around £70 worth of tickets with only a handful of the tickets left at the end of the night.

Amelia and Mati, I have some people wanting to claim prizes so will PM you directly with details.
