cava to celebrate

Post by Susana » Wed Nov 05, 2008 6:09 am

At about 1pm, today, I will be at the Forest with a bottle of cava to celebrate Obama's election. You are welcome to join me. You may get a thimble of it...

God knows what he will do with 'real politics' but just 40 years ago, in the sixties, Martin Luther King and Malcom X were assassinated for wanted to be counted in politics.....

I was remembering this morning how it was a woman's action what started the Civil Rights Movement in the 50s in USA.

not to dim your enthusiasm, but Rosa Parks wasn't the first, as it states in the wikipedia article you linked to, also it's often overlooked that Rosa Parks wasn't just any woman on the bus who just "got fed up", she was well involved with the civil rights movement before the bus boycott. she definitely was kickarse though.
