Food posters

Post by swithun » Wed Feb 27, 2008 6:42 pm

Here are some posters I made which might encourage people to eat our food in the cafe, rather than eating at home, or bringing their own crap here.

These are small web friendly versions. They could be A3 and laminated and displayed prominently.

Any suggestions?

Job done, they've made me hungry.
One suggestion for more clement weather is to encourage folk to sit outside and eat our lovely food to let passers-by see how yummy it is.

Ha! The List was in taking photos yesterday too. Guess we're getting a bit of a spread in this years food and drink guide... Felt like a food artiste yesterday!

Photos of the food could be good for vollies in the kitchen. Shots should be less about composition and more about showing exactly what's on the plate/quantity. People no be so good at knowing how much to give.

i would go easy on the Nasrullah pictures if i was you. could make us slightly less inclusive if no muslims/sunnis want to come into the forest...

Infidel pussies. Nasrallah is portrayed in a positive light, especially compared to Cruise and Rice. And scientologists/republicans have less sense of humour than Muslims. Are there any Lebanese celebrities who won't offend either the liberals or the extremists?

Second Swithun. I want Nasrallah, he is the best!

PS, Dan if you're saying what you seem to be saying (which is that no muslims or sunnis have a sense of humor), then I totally disagree with your racist point of view.

With the thumbs up from Condi, what more approval do you need?

But seriously, folks. This isn't obnoxious Danish cartoonists vs. touchy fundamentalists, or free speech vs. respecting others' religions. It is using a famous political figure to shift some fried fava beans in a friendly fashion.

As Dan is well versed and traveled in these areas, I take his point seriously. It is a reasonable idea to try not to needlessly offend groups of people, however remote the chances are of succeeding. But I actually expected (and intended) the offendees to be the establishment who label Nasrallah a terrorist.

If anyone has other suggestions, I'd be happy do use them. Its only a poster. I didn't mean to find the edge of our edgyness. Shall we go back to parodying black women now?

to find the edge of our edgyness
this should be forests top goal

Yes, just throw the words 'politically correct' at them and hope they shut up. It's as efficient as calling them commies.

For what it's worth, I think the Vanunu poster is funnier.

Swith: are you into taking some more photos for kitchen instructions?

Yes, I'll take some instructional ones. They could go in plastic wallets and hang somewhere near the prep area for people to emulate.

making fun of someone who was in solitary confinement for 11 years is much worse than making fun of an idiot sheik :(

You can't please everyone all the time. How about a whole bunch of Middle East trouble makers saying that the only thing they can agree on is our Falafel Meal?

I suppose Mullah Omar is off limits. But there aren't any good photos of him anyway.
