Turkish coffee pot?

Post by chombee » Sun Sep 14, 2008 1:24 pm

Does anyone know a place in Edinburgh, maybe a Turkish or Greek place, where I could get one of these pots for brewing Turkish coffee called a cezve or an ibrik? Or d'you know what else I might use that would do the job? I tried using the bottom half only of one of those stove-top moka espresso maker ones, that being the smallest stove-able pot I had, it almost worked, but not really.

Also, should this Turkish coffee be kept in the fridge or out?
I've had it with you. If I had an image of a laser gun I would absolutely position it right here in my hand...
Ha! I have a real laser absolutely positioned in my hand!

coffee etc. near the bristo square makes turkish coffee and they have cezve. u can ask where they got it from. if those do not work and if you still have the same problem then,
sbd from the forest will go to istanbul in the middle of october for the advanced planning visit of a youth exchange. he/she can bring you an original good one easily. that person will be decided on the international projects meeting on tuesday 16th at 6pm.
Cheers!

Osman is awesome - you should go see him for sure! But there must be a shop nearby to get one? If not, Glasgow...certainly you shouldn't need to wait for people heading to Turkey.

There is a Turkish shop up Clerk St, opposite that mega video shop in a corner.

And if I am not mistaken there is another in Bruntsfield, opposite the petrol station.

Good luck
