I've just come across this article on a new novel written by a Syrian female poet, Salwa al Neimi. :) . The title is 'Evidence of honey'. I understand it is about to be published in English and of course it is banned in most muslim countries but not all! and in fact the Tunisian newspaper Les Temps ...

Save Our Old Town zine
Those of you interested in zines may like having a look at the one that SOOT together with Cuboid (a group that takes a foldable 'room' around town) made. I think that it is quite a work of art!! I left a black and white copy at the library but you can download the glorious colour original from the ...

I received this warning, which I attach for the benefit of those that can read Spanish. Summary: - Wash the top of any can/tin that you are about to use, including of course drinking directly from a can. - Reason: during storage any rodent may have peed on them, as they often do. - Among other infec...

This is for the Canongate Project. The project has a shop in St Mary's St and it would help to project something on the walls to attract people in. It would be needed till the end of June.

Plea to help Alde, the Argentinian guy
Hi people. Alde, the Argentinian guy who has been around the Forest for a few weeks has produced a letter that he would like to be passed around. In it he is asking for help to gather the money for a ticket back to his country, either through cash-in-hand jobs or with donations. It would be great if...

Poetry through megaphone in the streets? Is it possible?
I was wondering whether such thing could take place here. And how or who could organise it. It is not my idea. My brother, who is director of culture in a city in Spain, has launched it and is happening this week. He himself is inspired by the international festival of poetry in Medellin, Colombia, ...
