my dream cafe jukebox
would be a pc with a hard drive full of mp3s. It would have a web server making pages available inside the cafe LAN. People would be able to log on and see what tune was currently playing, who the band was, and get a URL for futher info - the big problem is the cafe is you never know who is playing....

The Forest introduces Open Source software: A series of talks These days, Open Source Software is becoming more and more mainstream. People would come thru the bright airy double doors direct from the street and not realise a beautiful cafe lay beyond that dark dingy set of double doors underneath the stairs. sad :-( This august, can we have a bright colourful mural saying "...

Have PM'd and emailed people to get confirmation that they will lead things with my help (btw, the reason I'm doing this is because I don't consider myself proficient in a lot of this - some of this is also for me :-) Do we know anyone good who does open source sound and video editing? Milk, I'd rather do Ubuntu last. If you do it first, its just an abstract thing that people might not see the benefit of. If you do it last, people will have seen the great things OS can do and will be more open to it. Honestly, most people don't care about the OS anymore. I found my sister looking ...

I'd be happy to hand out Ubuntu CD's at a session on Ubuntu, but I wouldn't want to hand them out without telling people about it first. Don't want them to get scared off if it's all to new .....

With male connectors each end.
(That is actually the technical term, and it means sticky out bits that go into things, as opposed to female connectors that have holes things go into.)
If you can donate this to The Forest, we would be grateful!
Thanks.

I did NIS 5 years ago, I'll have to refresh myself. With NIS you would also use NFS with /home shared as you describe. Implementation wise, I feel we should keep it simple and either go with no CCTV at all or have it on on all the time. I am not sure it is a good idea to have it turning on and off. Does this make it even less likely to get snaps of people? Particularly when something has been stolen, or if some tro...

Re: Behind The Scenes - 17th April 2008
Budgets Budgets have started. At each WG meeting each one should look at their budgets and what was spent. Events is down already by -185. When numbers go negative each WG needs to make spending decisions, not individuals. Early days and it's working okay. Cool. Where can FWG members view all the b...
