the security settings for the space have become both weak and overbearing in exactly the wrong ways. i've poked my hosting friend. if we can't sort it soon enough, mike may have space available. something shall get sorted at some point!

i'm sure i've phoned BT about something a couple of years ago and they said that our connection always gets capped due to high usage after about a day into the month. the best way we can combat this is by using the QoS settings on the WRT router. we have things setup which we think are working, but ...

general volly meets are down as first sunday of the month, from 5pm (after having an induction in the afternoon, but a organising something sooner via hannah would work.

i know people have connected their laptops to the network at the forest and printed, but i've never set the printer up on any machine so i don't know the ins and outs, but i imagine it shouldn't be too hard if others have done it. tips anyone? by remote, do you mean from inside or out of the building?

the old site is at http://theforest.org.uk/old_site/ , but i've just realised that pogo moved the folder with all the cia nights pdfs to the 'old_images' folder in the root of the web space, breaking the links from the old site - you will be able to grab them from there via ftp access!

the splash will change every couple of months or so, but i thought i'd knock up a quick example to work with so folk got the gist. it doesn't have to be the one that goes live first, but it was an easy idea which has a good connection with Forest anyway so can be used at some point.
