confusion - there are panel pages and panel nodes. i don't entirely understand the difference but panel pages use the newer interface and are apparently more powerful so i used them for the front page and visuals page. "Site building -> Panels -> Dashboard" you can create either panel node...

About the pages beyond the front page, they may not be in a hierarchy but they are complex, many pages linking to many other pages, broken links, outdated info. this is because i've been focusing on the backend rather than content. i'll look at cleaning things up once i get the Info page menu worki...

you (as a full admin) will be able to see the Panels config at Site Building -> Panels in the admin menu at the top. i've been doing some research to find the easiest way of merging aggregated feeds into the 'front page news'. i could get it done at the moment, but it'd be an ugly hack of a method. ...

there is probably a way to fix this on the aggregator page itself with CSS in the theme, but it's going to go into a Panel anyhow which we can use to set the width.

the feed output shouldn't look that bad. looking at the source, the alignment isn't kept because it's set using the CSS class .alignright from style.css rather than inline CSS.

this is fixable by installing the plugin.

two sections is certainly doable.
