One thing that would be very nice with having an IT team would be to establish some clear roles (i.e. Have some people responsible for certain things). This would help people know who to talk to when there is a problem or an IT need. Some things I can think of on the top of my head: Documentation, ...

i'll get back to you when i've more time, but for now i'd highly recommend reading through our website and the Forest Volunteer Guide that's linked to from it, and also that you turn up to any working group meetings you can to get a real life feel or how we organise thigns and stuff.

a bike puncture repair kit and pump would also be fantastic to have. nix has mentioned it before, but it would be good to put together a new bike tool kit and keep it in the workshop (after the last one was stolen from the cupboard in the foyer area).

neil has noted; Just thinking... an easier way to test admin comp might be to take working comp from action room and stick admin hard drive inside it, see if things work proper. If so, great! If not, look's a software prob and needs backup & reinstall. Swapping hard drive would be a lot quicker....
